As an Authority rated outstanding by Ofsted, North Lincolnshire Council are extremely proud to be able to sponsor the ‘Practice Educator’ of the Year Award. This provides us with an opportunity to showcase our dedication to continuing to develop and nurture the highest calibre social workers and the best quality, dynamic and innovative practice. We pride ourselves in being able to offer skilled, knowledgeable and experienced staff who can deliver creative opportunities within a learning environment for those who are embarking on their social work career.

Our ambition for children and the determination to achieve this was recognised by Ofsted in 2017 who stated that:

“North Lincolnshire has been outstandingly effective in creating an environment where good social work is flourishing. A sufficient, stable, suitably experienced and skilled workforce is sustained, and social workers are overwhelmingly positive about working for the authority and the support and training they receive.”

“The local authority has created an environment in which good practice can thrive and in which social workers can build effective and consistent relationships with children. This, in turn, is supporting the achievement of good and excellent outcomes for children.”

Strong links with local schools, colleges and Universities have been sustained over time enabling us to generate an excitement about social work in North Lincolnshire and shape and influence the curriculum based on local and national issues.

Practice Educators are instrumental in achieving this and ensure the values of the Council and high-quality practice is developed and embedded within students to equip them with the skills to make a positive difference to children and families.
